Are you familiar with creative block? That irritating and frustrating situation when you just not able to get on with your creative work what ever that is. That's what happend to me when I tried to write this post. It was really difficult for me to start writing. I kind of knew what I wanted to say but I didn't know how to say it. I had all the photos finished and waiting. And waiting. And waiting.
Finally I decided I'll start writing the way I write letters to my friends. Just putting down all the things that come to my mind how random those might be.
I was in Spain a bit over two months ago and had great time there. First I went to Mallorca tp photograph Fabio who is an amazing cabaret artist performing as Marlon Di. I et him over three years ago in Helsinki. He was performing on a cruise ship and had a little walk in the city. I was doing streetphotography, spotted him and asked if I could take a photo of him. We chatted a bit and later I went to the ship to take some promo pics for him. Since then I had dreamed about doing photodocumentary about him. This trip was a first step on that journey. More will come.

Tiedätkö sen tunteen, kun yrität kirjoittaa jotakin, mutta et saa sanoja paperille? Yritin aloittaa tämän postauksen kirjoittamista yli kuukausi sitten, mutta en saanut mitään aikaseksi ja siirsin aloittamista aina uudelleen. Kaikki kuvat olivat valmiina vain teksti puuttui. Tiesin periaatteessa mitä halusin sanoa, mutta en tiennyt kuinka sanoisin sen. Lopulta päätin aloittaa kirjoittamisen samalla tavalla kuin aloitan kirjeiden (jep, sellaisten ihan oikeiden käsinkirjoitettujen ja postitse lähetettyjen kirjeiden) kirjoittamisen ystävilleni. Siis kirjoittamalla mitä mieleen sattuu tulemaan.
Olin siis reilut kaksi kuukautta sitten Espanjassa kuvausmatkalla. Lensin ensin Mallorcalle kuvaamaan Fabiota, johon tutustuin Helsingissä uudenvuodenaattona reilut kolme vuotta sitten. Fabio on brasilialainen kabareetaiteilija, joka oli tuolloin esiintymässä Tukholman lautalla. Olin tekemässä katukuvausta, kun huomasin Fabion ja kysyin voisinko kuvata häntä. Juttelimme hetken ja kävin vähän myöhemmin laivalla kuvaamassa promokuvia hänelle. Siitä alkaen haaveilin valokuvadokkarin teosta Fabion elämästä. Tämä matka oli projektin aloitus. Haluan kuvata Fabiota säännöllisesti tulevina vuosina.

After Mallorca I went to the mainland to Santa Susanna and took part to a great wedding photography workshop The Rural. From there I got tons of new ideas and inspiration. And ofcourse it was a great opportunity to make new friends and meet old ones. Or well the old one. There was actually just one other wedding photographer I knew before hand.

Mallorcalta suuntasin Manner-Espanjaan Santa Susannaan osallistuakseni hääkuvausworkshoppiin. Workshoppi oli ainakin omalta osaltani todella onnistunut ja sain sieltä roppakaupalla ideoita, inspiraatiota ja uusia ystäviä.
After the workshop I spent few days in Barcelona with my husband who came for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. Sounds awesome you think now.
Besides the inspiration and friends I got also a flu from the workshop. (Hanging and photographing two or three hours on a beach and in the water bare feet wasn't the best idea after all when the wheather was like on a typical summerday in Finland.) So because of the flu the holiday part of this trip wasn't a success and I don't think I took any travelphotos from Barcelona. But after all I did took some photos there.
Despite the flu I had great time shooting with Arvi and Cesar at Bunkers del Carmel. Photographing couples is like a medicine to me. All the adrenalin made me feel like I had no flu at all. I actually feel myself really lucky I got to photograph them. They are such a beatiful couple! They actually eloped last year and didn't even get any photos taken. So these are kind of their wedding photos. I will make a post of their photos later in some point. Here's just few so that you can see these cuties.

Workshopin jälkeen vietin vielä muutaman päivän Barcelonassa lomaillen. Mieheni tuli sinne myös juhlistamaan syntymäpäivääni. Kuulostaa hyvältä vai mitä?
No kaikki ei mennyt ihan piirrustusten mukaan. Inspiraation ja ystävien lisäksi sain workshopista mukaani myös aika pahan flunssan. Pari-kolme tuntia kuvaamista ja hengailua paljain jaloin rannalla ja vedessä tavallista suomalaista kesäpäivää vastaavassa säässä ei ollut se paras idea. Flunssan takia reissun lomailu osuus ei siis ollut mikään menestys.
Flunssasta huolimatta nautin, kun pääsin kuvaamaan Arvia ja Cesaria Barcelonan parhaalla näköalapaikalla Carmelin bunkkereilla. Kuvaamisesta tuleva adrenaliini toimii tehokkaana lääkkeenä kipeää oloa vastaan.
All in all the whole trip gave me tons of inspiration and ideas and amazing moments with awesome people. It makes me feel blessed.

Kaiken kaikkiaan reissu oli todella onistunut. Sain hurjan määrän inspiraatiota, mutta vielä onnellisempi olen upeista kohtaamisista upeiden ihmisten kanssa.
